Teaching And Learning

This information is aimed at helping you to gain the best you can for and from your learning. If you think about this question " Why do I come to school?" and you answered to learn about myself and have fun in learning about the world around me then the points below will make sense to you.

  • You are here to learn
  • I am here to teach

When entering the learning room, you need to start settling down into a learning frame of mind and not one of playground excitement.

If you deliberately interrupt teaching or learning, then a consequence will follow that you will not like.

We all have rights, but we have the individual responsibility to make sure that we do not affect the rights of others.

If advice is given, try to put it into action as your teacher is trying to help you reach your potential in your social and academic areas.

We all bring to our learning room different skills and learning abilities.

Never be afraid to let your teacher know if you do not understand something or if you have a challenging problem. Everyone in the room is there to learn, DO not think that your friends will think you dumb for asking. They will understand, as they too are there to learn.

Never be afraid to have a go... that is how we learn.

Rights And Responsibilities

This information is aimed at helping you to gain the best you can for and from your learning. If you think about this question " Why do some people seem more popular than others?" It is because some people have learnt and display better social skills. The points below will help you to understand

  • We all have rights, but we have the individual responsibility to make sure that we do not affect the rights of others.
  • You are responsible for your own actions. NO one makes you swear, hit or interrupt Teaching and Learning.
  • Never distract friends from their learning or the teacher from teaching.

If you deliberately interrupt teaching or learning, then a consequence will follow that you will not like.

  • We all have the right to learn.
  • Always be nice, smile, say good things about people, praise your friends when they achieve or do something well.
  • Be happy and enjoy your learning
  • Follow all the Rights and Responsibilities that your Learning Group voted on.
  • If you have a problem, calm down before speaking and speak about the problem not the person.
  • Remember, that different settings like the Learning Room, Playground, the Principal's Office, Administration Office all require a different form of behaviour. Be able to adapt!
  • We all learn how to be a social person, because we want to be accepted. While learning we will make mistakes, that is OK, but don't make the same mistake twice. Always learn from your mistakes. WHY? Because, you will become a better person and have wonderful friends.
